The Solar System Using Google Slides
The third grade students at KCH participated in a research project during library and computer lab classes where they learned about the solar system. Each student was partnered with a classmate in a different class. They took notes using a graphic organizer and used websites, books and databases to find information. Together they used Google Slides to create a digital presentation to share the information they learned.The students learned about the research process; I Wonder...(Asking a question), I Find... (Getting the info you need), I Evaluate... (Understanding what you've found) and I Share...(Telling others what you learned).

The purpose of this research project is to provide enrichment to students. The students learned about the research process; I Wonder...(Asking a question), I Find... (Getting the info you need), I Evaluate... (Understanding what you've found) and I Share...(Telling others what you learned). Students were required to create a website using an Google Sites. Students used non-fiction books, databases or websites to find information about countries around the world. They learned about sources and giving credit to where they got the information they used in their projects.

For this research project students were required to use an educational app on the iPad called Pixntell to explain or teach other about a topic that is important to them. They had to research and find information about their topic or create questions and interview their important person. They had to plan out each slide and provide narration.
