Mrs. Driscoll and Mrs. Healy's Collaborative Research Project
The Solar System using Google Slides
The third grade students at KCH participated in a research project during library and computer lab classes where they learned about the solar system. Each student was partnered with a classmate in a different class. They took notes using a graphic organizer and used websites, books and databases to find information. Together they used Google Slides to create a digital presentation to share the information they learned. The students learned about the research process; I Wonder...(Asking a question), I Find... (Getting the info you need), I Evaluate... (Understanding what you've found) and I Share...(Telling others what you learned).
Mrs. Driscoll and Mrs. DeCook's Mini Mustang Research Group: Hailey Zabel, Xander Szalach, Sofia Tufenkjian, Jack Lucio, Kendall Donegan, Matt Gilmore and Conner Traver The purpose of this research project is to provide enrichment to students. The students learned about the research process; I Wonder...(Asking a question), I Find... (Getting the info you need), I Evaluate... (Understanding what you've found) and I Share...(Telling others what you learned). Students were required to create a website using Google Sites. Students used non-fiction books, databases or websites to find information about endangered animals around the world. They learned about sources and giving credit to where they got the information they used in their projects. They did an amazing job and had a lot of fun learning and creating!
