Happy holidays – in any language

Students in Audrey Misiano’s seventh-grade exploratory language class on Dec. 16 treated Marcellus Central School District staffers to a hallway holiday concert in Spanish and French at Driver Middle School.

Ms. Misiano (below, left) simplified a complex French song, titled “The Christmas Dance,” and also translated it into Spanish. Her students sang both versions, while performing hand gestures to represent the words. Ms. Misiano accompanied them on the ukulele.

The lyrics, in both languages: The snow is falling/Let's do the Christmas Dance/The tree shines bright/Let's do the Christmas dance (cha-cha-cha).
