Marcellus Central School District residents today will vote on the district’s proposed 2015-16 budget of $32,253,589, as well as three other propositions.
The budget proposal includes a spending increase of $647,775, or 2.05 percent, and an estimated school tax levy increase of $130,670, or 0.74 percent – the maximum allowed for the district under the state tax levy limit law. For the owner of a $100,000 home with a basic STAR exemption, this would mean an estimated increase of $12.06 in school property taxes next year.

Polls will be open noon to 9 p.m. in the auditorium at Marcellus High School, 1 Mustang Hill, Marcellus, New York 13108.
- Elect three members to the Board of Education;
- Decide on a second budget proposition, to replace five school vehicles at a cost of $478,313; and
- Consider a budget increase proposed by the Marcellus Free Library.
