District receives national recognition for communication efforts


NSPRA logoThe National School Public Relations Association has recognized the Marcellus Central School District with three awards for its communications efforts.

NSPRA’s 2015 Publications and Electronic Media Contest recognizes outstanding education publications, e-newsletters, electronic media programs, radio/TV/cable, CD/DVD programs and Internet websites. The contest is open to all public or private schools and school districts. There were 919 entries total and 568 entries in the publications portion.

Marcellus received an Award of Merit in the print newsletter category, and honorable mention in the finance publication and special purpose publication categories, for its May 2014 budget newsletter and its October 2014 capital project newsletter, respectively.

The association recognized a total of 388 entries in the publications portion of the contest. Marcellus’ district newsletter was one of 134 publications to win an Award of Merit and 155 to receive Awards of Honorable Mention.
