PTL Club shares love of language with KCH students
The C.S. Driver Middle School Peace Through Language Club continued its ongoing mission of spreading the love of languages this fall by teaching at K.C. Heffernan Elementary School. Club members began their first lesson Oct. 6 by teaching the younger students greetings and farewells in other languages, along with the alphabet and numbers. The alphabet was taught with a song written by high school students in music theory class under the direction of Mr. Brian Ackles. After their second lesson, DMS language teacher and club faculty adviser Mrs. Audrey Misiano debriefed with the club members on how the lesson went. The nine seventh- and eighth-graders answered enthusiastically: “It went great! We just got to sing and teach little kids!”
The PTL Club plans to continue teaching classes at KCH this year and is very much looking forward to sharing its love of languages with the littlest linguists in our school community.
