Michelle Brantner opens the 2016-17 school year with faculty & staff
Sept. 2, 2016 -- New Marcellus Superintendent of Schools Michelle L. Brantner welcomed faculty and staff back to campus Aug. 31 for Opening Day of the 2016-17 school year. The festivities included a catered breakfast, inspirational greetings from administrators and Board of Education President Ryan Riefler and assorted meetings and trainings in preparation for the arrival of students on Sept. 6.
During her speech, Ms. Brantner extolled the virtue of gifts given and received. She also outlined the district's goals for 2016-17:
Increase the district's implementation of instructional strategies in line with data-driven instruction;
Facilitate growth of instructional staff through implementation of the new Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR) process; and
Have all staff accept responsibility for the literacy development of Marcellus students by teaching reading and writing across ALL curricular areas.
