Kindergartners stretch their skills with robots

Dec. 1, 2016 -- Kindergartners in teachers Jill Zoccolillo and Jodi Wiley's classes at K.C. Heffernan Elementary School gathered around iPads, flashing spheres, snaking plastic caterpillars and more on Nov. 18, as they delved into a robotics lesson.

The students rotated through four different stations, Ms. Zoccolillo explains, using problem solving and critical thinking  to accomplish different tasks with robotic devices such as Sphero, OSMO Coding, Code-A-Pillar, Code And Go Robot Mouse and the Bee-Bot App.

"As the kids tried each activity they had to reflect on their success and revise their plans to try to accomplish the goal," she said.
