March 29, 2017 -- Tenth-grade AP biology student Jeffrey Shi is competing in the USA Biology Olympiad this year. On the exam portion of the competition, he scored 15 points above average. Next, he completed the semifinal exam on March 26. The students with the top 20 scores will then continue on to the national finals, which will further winnow the field to four students, who will travel to England for the International Biology Olympiad this summer.

For those keeping score at home, Jeff competed in the national Chemistry Olympiad last year, and is set to participate in The New York State Mathematics League this weekend in New York City

“Jeff has been intensively studying and is hoping to be chosen for the International Biology Olympiad,” teacher Kriskin Lockwood said.

Fingers crossed, Jeff!
