Marcellus High School team competes today on 'Double Down'
Oct. 30, 2017 -- A team of Marcellus High School seniors will compete today in “Double Down,” WCNY’s award-winning high school academic quiz show in which host Noah Eagle poses challenging questions in science, math, literature, current events and other topics.
The school’s team is made up of National Honor Society seniors Justin Costa, Trisha Curtin and Olivia Bird. English teacher Virginia Pskowski serves as their faculty adviser.
The team first competed Oct. 21 in the qualifying round – along with 24 teams from across the region. Now the 16 teams that performed best in the 2-minute lightning round have advanced to the “Round of 16,” which will be recorded today at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School. Watch “Double Down” on WCNY-TV Sunday nights at 6 p.m. starting November 5.
