Voters Pass Budget, Elect BOE Members

The Marcellus Central School District's $41.7 million budget passed with a vote of 567 yes and 234 no on Tuesday.

The budget called for a 3.75 percent increase in spending over 2023-24 and carries a 3.6 percent tax levy increase.

Voters also passed the second proposition on the ballot, which is to purchase student transportation vehicles. The final tally was 559 yes and 250 no.

The third proposition for the library levy was approved with a vote of 590 yes and 220 no.

Amy Bartolotta and Justin Pritchard were elected to the Board of Education. Bartolotta led the way with 512 votes, while Pritchard received 330 votes.

Elisabeth Swenson had 288 votes, Katherine Cook followed with 276 votes, and various write-in candidates received 19 votes.
